Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency reported on the 22nd local time that Iranian central bank governor Abdolnaser Hemmati met with Ambassador Yoo Jeong-hyun at the Korean embassy in Tehran the day before, and agreed to use frozen assets in Korea.

The Iranian government also announced through its official website that an agreement has been reached with South Korea regarding the use of frozen assets.

According to the Iranian government’s website, the two sides agreed to transfer Iranian frozen assets in South Korea to where they wanted Iran in the previous day’s talks.

Ambassador Yu said, “The Korean government is ready to take all necessary steps to use all Iranian assets in South Korea, and there are no limits or restrictions on this.”

Iranian funds frozen in Korea are estimated at 7 billion US dollars and about 7.6 trillion won.

However, the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not been confirmed.

The Korean government has maintained the position that the issue of lifting of Iran’s frozen funds can only be achieved through consultations with related countries such as the United States.

US Secretary of State Blincoln says he will seek to strengthen and extend the Iranian nuclear agreement and the JCPOA.

He then stressed that Iran must comply with the IAEA’s Nuclear Safety Measures Agreement and its international obligations.

Iran’s top leader, Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei, reaffirms the principle of non-nuclear weapons, but says if necessary, the level of uranium enrichment, now 20 percent, can be increased to 60 percent.

They are fighting with the United States, demanding the lifting of sanctions from the United States, which are advocating the nuclear agreement.
