There is growing interest in Stephen Yeon, the first Asian American to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.
Director Bong Joon-ho’s and Lee Chang-dong’s have already made their faces known several times in Korea. Reporter Lee Yeo-jin introduces who Steve Yeon is.

When Stephen Yeon’s name was announced, foreign media gave it the meaning of being an’Asian-American’ actor who was nominated for an Best Actor for the first time in the history of the Academy.

Stephen Yeon was born in Korea in 1983.
When I was 5, my family and my family immigrated to Canada and then moved back to the United States.
Perhaps because of the commonality of these immigrant families,’Minari’ seemed to be her own story from the beginning.

Regarding the nomination, Steven Yeon expressed his feelings that he was blessed by saying that it was surreal.
