The Spanish Ministry of Health said on the 15th local time that there were more than 40,000 new cases of Corona 19 (40,197).

We’ve regained our all-time maximum two days ago.

This is the result of increased face-to-face contact around the year-end and New Year holidays.

Each local government has taken steps to accelerate curfew and tighten restrictions on business hours for restaurants and bars.

However, the Spanish central government has reaffirmed its position that it does not consider a national blockade.

It drew a line on some local government proposals for blockade.

This is in contrast to other European countries, where the spread of Corona 19 is strong, followed by blockades restricting the movement of citizens.

Amidst this, large-scale protests have been held in Austria against the blockade to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Many of the participants did not wear masks.

[모니카 갈 / 빈 거주자 : 봉쇄 조치가 지겹습니다. 나는 코로나를 부정하지도 않고, 우익도 아닙니다. 그러나 정부 조치는 전혀 옳지 않습니다.]

The Austrian government is considering an extension of the blockade, which is due until the 24th.

Prime Minister Kurz will announce details on the 17th local time.
