Major European countries such as Germany, where the number of new confirmed cases is significantly decreasing due to rapid vaccination, are pushing for mitigation measures, but concerns are growing due to the spread of the mutant virus.

Italy and other countries are strengthening containment measures such as suspension of school attendance due to the spread of the mutant virus from the UK.

Prime Minister Mario Draghi of Italy has signed an executive order for Corona 19, including the closure of all schools in the city if designated as a high-risk area, that is, a red zone.

The target of closure, which was previously limited to high schools, has been expanded to all schools, including kindergartens, elementary schools, and junior high schools.

Accordingly, it is estimated that the number of students who cannot go to school from the 8th will reach 6 million.

This is an emergency quarantine measure following the spread of the mutant virus from the UK.

According to statistics from the Italian health authorities, 54% of the recent cases of new confirmed cases are from the UK.

Mutations from the UK are known to have stronger transmission power than the existing Corona 19 virus, and the severity of symptoms caused by infection is also known to be more severe.

In particular, cases of infection among young people including children are increasing, raising concerns.

In Switzerland, it was also found that the mutation rate among new confirmed cases reached about 70%.

In Germany, 50% of the confirmed cases of the mutant virus have been confirmed, but a step-by-step blockade and mitigation plan has been pursued.

Accordingly, in areas with less than 100 new confirmed cases per 100,000 population, the lowest level, level 5, is applied, allowing visitors to visit shops, museums, and zoos, and private gatherings are also allowed for up to 5 people from 2 households.

The German government is planning to conduct a free corona19 rapid diagnosis test at least once a week along with the five-step blockade mitigation measures.
