How did the Chinese government announce the results of the talks yesterday?

[기자]

The announcement by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also devoted to the part that both Korea and China had reached opinions on the North Korean nuclear issue and the Korean Peninsula.

First of all, it said that China has reaffirmed its position that the Korean Peninsula issue should be resolved politically through dialogue.

According to the announcement in China, Director Wang Yi said that countries should make active efforts to establish a permanent peace regime and complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

In addition to this, Wang Yi said that rational concerns in North Korea should be effectively addressed.

It seems to have been said in consideration of North Korea’s position in the context of China’s confrontation with the United States.

Director Wang Yi also said that he would pursue a political solution to the issue of Korea and the Korean Peninsula, but he also made a comment to keep the United States in check, saying to keep multilateralism together.

In the announcement on the Chinese side, the issue of introducing a vaccine passport was also mentioned. What is the content?

[기자]

The Chinese side announced yesterday that the foreign ministers of Korea and China had agreed to cooperate on vaccines.

It is that the two countries have decided to strengthen cooperation for the so-called’health code mutual authentication’, which is the Chinese version of the vaccine passport.

It’s about giving convenience to each other’s entry and exit to those who have been vaccinated. China has already announced that it will provide visa accommodations for domestic vaccinations.

However, the Korean government did not seem to have reached an agreement by only making an announcement to make efforts to promote human exchange in the context of Corona 19.

The announcement in China also contains a statement that Korea welcomed China’s proposal to join the CPTPP, or the Pacific Rim Economic Partnership Agreement.

However, since Korea has not joined the CPTPP, which is currently led by Japan, it is interpreted to the extent that China has expressed hope of joining.

In the Chinese announcement, there is no content related to President Xi Jinping’s visit to Korea, and it is mentioned that our side celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, which is different from the announcement by the Korean government.

This difference seems to have been made as the two countries announced the results of the talks without a joint announcement, according to a prior agreement.
