As the number of confirmed cases continues to increase despite high-intensity controls, China is focusing on quarantining groups of rural residents in affected areas.

Despite China’s high-intensity control every day, is the number of infections increasing?

That’s right.

There were more than 100 confirmed cases in China yesterday, the fifth day a year.

Yesterday, 96 people occurred in mainland China, and 109 people were confirmed, including 13 people from overseas.

Hebei Province, the metropolitan area, has the largest number with 72 people, followed by Heilongjiang and Jilin Provinces, with more than 10 confirmed patients each.

In addition, yesterday, the number of asymptomatic infections increased to 119 when both local outbreaks and foreign inflows were combined, and the actual number of infected people is more than 200.

In particular, Hebei Province hasn’t caught the spread for the 15th day after the first confirmed cases came out on the 2nd.

Currently, four cities, including Shijiazhuang, with a population of more than 10 million, are still closed.

In the case of Shijiazhuang, all residents have been tested for nucleic acids twice, but once the day after tomorrow, residents are completely prohibited from going out of their homes.

Even though the movement of residents is prohibited, the number of infected continues to increase. Are there any other measures taken?

In China’s quarantine, first of all, migration is banned, and nucleic acids are tested for all residents to detect and treat early.

However, as this did not work well, we are now focusing on large-scale containment.

China earlier last week evacuated 20,000 residents from a rural infected area outside Shijiazhuang and moved them to quarantine facilities.

As a result of this, due to lack of containment facilities, the epicenter of Shijiazhuang City in Hebei Province is urgently building a 3,000-room temporary containment facility in the outskirts.

The foundation work is done on 30 soccer fields and a prefabricated building is built. The construction was done 24 hours a day and night, but it is still not completed.

In this situation, another city called Xingtai in nearby Hebei Province is urgently building a prefabricated containment facility inside the building that was built as a factory.

We are aiming to complete 6,500 temporary barrack-type quarantine facilities in six areas, which can accommodate 9,500 people by adding up to 3,000 Shijiazhuang City.

Xingtai City said that it completed 1,500 rooms yesterday, five days after construction began, and 800 people moved in.

This re-proliferation is mainly occurring in rural areas, but because of the nature of rural villages, it is difficult to control, so it is a separate facility for collective isolation.

Hotels and offices close to the infected area are used as quarantine facilities first, and as these facilities become saturated, prefab quarantine facilities are built quickly.

Looking at China’s securing of up to about 10,000 temporary quarantine facilities, it seems that we believe that this re-proliferation situation may not end in a short time.
