The 1st Global Strategic Technology Forum is being held at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon on the 4th. Provided by the Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communication
■ Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communication The Science and Technology Innovation Headquarters organized a’Global Strategic Technology Forum’ to prepare strategies for responding to core technologies with high industrial importance and future-leading potential, and held the first forum on the subject of’Quantum Computing’ in Daejeon on the 4th. It was held at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science. The Innovation Headquarters will select global core strategic technologies every month and discuss response strategies with experts in each technology field.
■ The Ministry of Science, ICT, and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency announced on the 4th that they are carrying out the’Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based security product and service development support’ project. It is a business that supports domestic companies developing information security products and services using AI from prototype development to overseas expansion. It supports up to 1 billion won over two years in the form of government and private matching funds. The public offering period is until the 26th, and detailed information can be found on the Korea Agency’s website (www.kisa.or.kr) and information security industry promotion portal (www.ksecurity.or.kr). On the 5th, Kakao TV and YouTube will hold an online briefing session.
■ The National Intellectual Property Commission and the Korean Patent Attorneys Association held a joint seminar on the 4th on the theme of’Intellectual Property Policy Directions in Response to Next-Generation Science and Technology-AI and Intellectual Property’. AI technology and related laws and institutional trends, AI invention patent eligibility discussion and examination criteria, AI patent status and problems by industry field. Various topics such as the limitations of patent evaluation by AI and the role of experts were discussed.
■ The Ministry of Science, ICT and ICT announced on the 4th that it will promote the’research material development and diffusion support project’ to create a research material industry ecosystem. As a project to support R&D development and commercialization of research materials, it focuses on supporting six strategic items including meta-materials, paradox-type super materials, super catalytic materials, mesoporous materials, standard and reference materials, and reagents for bio and medical research analysis.
