The German Football Association announced on the 9th (Korean time) that “German national team coach Joachim Loeb will put down the baton at the end of Euro 2020, which is scheduled to be held in June.”

In 2004, coach Löve joined Jürgen Klinsmann as a senior coach as an assistant. Afterwards, he climbed the command tower in July 2006 and officially led the tank corps.

Germany also had a splendid time with coach Loew. Starting with runner-up in Euro 2008, he finished third at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Germany, who challenged to the top of the Euro 2012 quarterfinals, held the championship cup that they longed for at the 2014 Brazil World Cup.

In Euro 2016, he took the semifinal stage again, but his dominance gradually declined afterwards. In particular, at the 2018 Russia World Cup, he was caught by Korea and drank a bitter cup of being eliminated from the group stage for the first time ever.

After 15 years as a coach and 17 years including coaches, coach Loeb said, “I am proud to be able to share the success of my country and a special moment. I was able to help my development with the best players for about 17 years.”

He said, “I had a big win and a painful defeat with my players. But there were many fantastic and magical moments. It’s not just about winning the Brazil World Cup. “I am always grateful to the association for helping me and my team and creating the ideal environment, and will continue to do so.”

Finally, coach Loeb expressed his determination to reap the beauty of Yujong, saying, “At the same time, the motivation for the upcoming Euro 2020 is also strong.”
