[고속도로 상황] Busan → Seoul 5 hours 30 minutes… Real congestion

The traffic congestion on the highway began in earnest from around noon on the 12th of the New Year’s Day. It’s less than usual, but it’s because in addition to the procession of returning home and returning home, and people going on a trip for the weekend, we will connect reporters at Anseong Rest Area to find out the condition of the highway.

Reporter Han Sung-hee, please explain the current situation.

Yes, usually on New Year’s Day, the rest area would have been crowded with crowds visiting Tokyo at this time, but now it is relatively busy as you can see.

Even if you stop by the rest area, there seems to be the effect of quarantine measures to ensure that food cannot be eaten on the spot and only be packed.

Highway traffic gradually increased from around noon, and congestion began everywhere.

In particular, the direction of Seoul near Cheongju on the Gyeongbu Expressway, the direction of Seoul of Anseong Rest Area, and the direction of Seohaean IC Mokpo appear to be slowing down at less than 40 km/h under severe congestion.

The authorities believe that this is because the procession of returning home and returning to the country is concentrated at a similar level, and crowds of people going on a trip have also flocked to the weekend.

As of 1 p.m., it will take 5 hours and 30 minutes from Busan to Seoul, 2 hours and 30 minutes from Daejeon to Seoul, and 4 hours and 50 minutes from Mokpo.

The Korea Expressway Corporation predicts that today’s national traffic will be the highest during this holiday with 4.29 million vehicles, a little more than the usual weekend.

The Korea Expressway Corporation predicted that traffic in the direction of the metropolitan area would peak at around 1~2pm, and traffic would be smooth again around 10pm.

The road from the metropolitan area to the hometown is expected to clear up around 7 pm.

It is important to keep in mind that this holiday season, highway tolls will be charged as usual, unlike previous years.
