However, there are several cases of damage, such as the loss of money without knowing it because the refund was not properly received or it was converted to paid payment without notice.

As the time spent at home has increased these days, the number of people enjoying content such as movies, music and games through online apps has increased rapidly.
As often as they use it, more and more consumers do not pay every time and subscribe to regular payments.

However, it turns out that many of the major subscription service apps do not properly respond to requests for refunds or penalties.
Of the 25 top subscription service apps surveyed by the Consumer Agency, 18 were virtually limiting subscription withdrawal.
Some apps can only be canceled within 48 hours, so even if you canceled within 3 days of payment, you had to pay all the monthly fees.
According to the relevant law, it is possible to withdraw the subscription within a week from the date of signing the contract, but it is ignored.
There were also 21 apps that didn’t properly return the balance when unsubscribed.
In the case of monthly payment, after 10 days of use and cancellation, the remaining 20 days must be returned, but it was not observed.
In addition, due to the failure to properly inform consumers of paid payments, there has also been damage that has not been noticed for 20 months.

In the past three years, the number of complaints and damages related to content received by Consumer Agency reached 609.
Consumer Agency plans to recommend to the business operator to guarantee the right to withdraw from the consumer subscription and to include the obligation to notify in case of major contract changes.
