[경제]KOSPI surged 4% at 3,152 deadline…Foreigners net purchase of 1.6 trillion

The KOSPI surged nearly 4% after crossing the 3,000 mark for the first time from yesterday’s closing price, surpassing the 3,100 mark.

Today’s uptrend was led by foreigners, and in the new year, individuals, institutions, and foreigners alternately playing the leading role in rising the index.

One day after breaking through the KOSPI 3,000, which is called the dream index, the KOSPI surged 3.97% and 120.50 points, closing at 3,152.18.

The increase was the second ever since 127.51 points on March 24 last year.

Foreigners led the uptrend by net purchases of over 1.6 trillion won.

It is analyzed that foreign funds have flowed into Korea, which is an export-oriented country, as the Blue Wave, which means the Democratic Party’s control of the White House and the House of Representatives, became a reality.

On the other hand, individuals sold 500 billion won and institutions net sold over 1 trillion won.

In the new year, individuals raised the index by net buying by the 6th, while foreigners and institutions focused on net selling. On the 7th, institutions and foreigners took the lead in net buying, contributing to the exponential rise in the index.

After news of Apple’s proposal to cooperate with Hyundai Motors for the launch of an electric car, the stock of Hyundai Motors sharply rose to 255,000 won during the week and ended at 246,000 won, up 19% from the previous day.

On the other hand, the KOSDAQ closed at 987.79, down 1.07 points from the previous day.
