A meeting of relevant ministers was held to discuss the direction of the government’s real estate market policy this year.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki, Homeland Minister Byeon Chang-heum, Finance Committee Chair Eun Seong-soo, and National Tax Service Commissioner Kim Dae-ji attended.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said that the housing market is being reorganized centered on end-users, but in recent years, anxiety in the trading market has been detected and monitoring is being conducted with more tension.

Although the jeonse market is experiencing difficulties in supply and demand, the rent to cheonsei ratio is increasing recently, so it was evaluated that the stability of existing tenants’ housing is improving.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said he plans to do all he can to secure the amount of available housing while maintaining the policy stance of blocking speculative demand and protecting end-users as the policy direction this year.

Regarding the supply of housing, he announced that he would put the most emphasis on the supply of new housing.

In April, we announced the pre-subscription schedule for public pre-sale housing in the metropolitan area, including the 3rd new city, and next month, we will present various housing supply plans currently under consideration.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong drew a line on the’transfer tax easing theory’ raised by some, saying that he will push forward the strengthening of taxation and transfer tax for multi-homed and short-term holders as scheduled.

He added that the enforcement date is only four months away, and that the sales trend of multi-homed people is being monitored specifically.

We decided to strengthen tax investigations and crackdown on illegal activities with the intention to pursue and hold accountability for market disruption such as illegal donations and illegal subscriptions throughout the year.

The government has announced that it will take full action through all policy measures so that the stability of the real estate market becomes visible as stabilization of people’s housing is the most urgent task for people’s livelihood.
