The Korea Transport Institute asked 9,398 households to visit their hometown during the Lunar New Year holidays.

The total number of people traveling is 21.9 million people, which is expected to decrease by 32.6% from last year, but 93.5% of respondents said they would use a car when traveling, and highways are expected to be congested.

The government has devised measures to encourage people to refrain from visiting their hometown or traveling on Lunar New Year holidays.

First, the expressway tolls, which were exempted for 3 days at each holiday, were decided to be collected this year, following Chuseok last year.

When entering and exiting the rest area, you must follow the quarantine rules, such as checking the heat and creating an access list.

In addition, food cannot be eaten at restaurants inside the rest area, and all menus can only be wrapped.

During the Lunar New Year holidays, sales of public transport seats also decreased significantly.

Disinfection has been strengthened and masks are mandatory for all transportation modes.

In order to quickly get out of the 3rd pandemic of Corona 19, the government has requested that the movement be restrained as much as possible this New Year.
