It was found that 7 out of 10 small business owners suffered a decrease in sales in the aftermath of Corona 19.

Small business owners cited rent as the biggest economic burden.

The Federation of Small Businessmen conducted a survey related to the status of sales and the degree of damage of small businessmen due to Corona 19.

Among small business owners, 70.8% of respondents said that their sales this year were less than last year.

The average decrease in sales compared to last year was 37.4%, and it is predicted that this year’s sales will be only 60% of last year due to the corona 19 effect.

The leisure service industry saw the largest decrease in sales, followed by the education service industry and the lodging restaurant business.

The time when Corona 19 had the greatest impact on business operation was at the end of last February at the time of the group infection at the Daegu Church in Shincheonji, which was ranked the most at 54.3%.

Next was the time of infection in the metropolitan area due to the Liberation Day rally in August.

Regarding the social distancing and business hours restrictions for the prevention of Corona 19, more than 40% of the respondents said,’I understand the policy, but measures to save small businesses should also be prepared.

As for the fixed cost, which is economically burdensome, almost 70% of them cited rent.

Labor expenses, various taxes, and loan interest were followed.

In the future, government policies required for small business owners include emergency management stabilization fund loans, rental support, and tax benefits.

The small business association explained that the degree of disruption in daily life due to Corona 19 is the highest of 5 points and 4.50 points, which is 1.33 times that of the Sewol ferry disaster and 1.54 times that of the MERS outbreak.
