[아이뉴스24 문영수 기자] Diablo 2, a masterpiece PC game that caused many gamers to sleep at night in the early 2000s, has returned as a remastered version after 20 years. ‘Diablo 2: Resurrection (hereinafter referred to as Resurrection)’, which took off the first veil at the BlizzConline in February, is the main character.
Resurrection is the third remastered work following Blizzard’s’StarCraft: Remaster’ and’Warcraft 3: Reforged’ and is also a game that marks the end of the remaster project. The company has nailed down that there are no more remasters of the old work after the resurrection.
Warcraft 3: Reforged, which was released earlier, was of less than expected quality in terms of graphics and translation, so it is true that there was a great concern about recreation. However, Resurrection, which I first encountered through the alpha test on the 9th, felt that these worries were only’tilt’. Familiar background music was playing, so my ears reacted first.
There is no shortage of graphics, even as of 2021. The resolution and quality of the open background of Act 1 were quite high. The monsters that appeared were also familiar, but they were changed to more advanced graphics. In particular, the light effect that comes out when using magic was advanced. If you press the shortcut key (G), you can switch to the 2000s version, and you can immediately feel how much difference it makes.
The game nature itself was the same as the original Diablo 2. Like other MMORPGs, you can explore a vast field and kill all the monsters you see without having to repeatedly receive quests. Like a game of the 2000s, the operation method is simple. Just find the enemy and click the mouse hard.
Not everything was the same as the original. In the case of the lobby screen, all of the small character shapes were in the original, but in the recreation, you can see my character in a big way. The position of the technology button in the interface was also different. There was also a subtle difference in the magical graphic direction, but unlike the original work, which turned blue when hit by a cold series, it became azure.
Not only was the storage box wider, but it seemed convenient to have an account unit storage box. If you have reconnected to hand over items to other characters in my account, and the room was blown up, I think it would be a feature that would welcome you with a pair of hands.
Is it just because I’m older? Or is it because of getting used to mobile games? I couldn’t help getting tired quickly. In 2000, when I was in my teens, I remember playing all night long, but now I don’t think I can even dream of it. Still, it was a good time to remember old memories in an elapsed time.
It would be interesting to see if Diablo 2 Resurrection, which is due to be released this year, will be able to reveal its presence in the game market in 20 years, as the subtitle’resurrection’ means.
