[가덕도 르포] “The sex molester Ogeodon family makes money, the residents are kicked out…Gadeok also hates the airport.”

“Because of building a new airport, there are many outsiders who are putting up a new building.”

On the 4th, I visited Gadeokdo, Gangseo-gu, Busan, which is at the center of the speculation controversy between the construction of a new airport in the southeast region and the former mayor’s family in Busan. It has been about three months since the Gimhae New Airport Verification Committee of the Prime Minister’s Office on November 17 last year, covering the Gimhae New Airport Plan (existing airport expansion plan) as a gateway airport in the southeastern region on the day that it was in fact unsuitable.

Meanwhile, the discussion over’Gadeokdo’ heated up. On the 7th of next month, as the core pledge of the Busan Mayor’s by-election,’Promotion of a new airport for Gadukdo’ came to mind, and a suspicion of speculation on Gadokdo by the former mayor of Busan also raised.

◇ Foreign landowners “Let’s build a new building quickly”

On this day, it was noticeable that new buildings were being built in various places in the village. There was also a freshly-built shopping mall that was being rented and sold as vacant.

Gadeokdo Island, whose passport is taking a strong drive, is actually a building that will disappear if the construction of a new airport is actually implemented, and lands that should be presented to the government, but ironically, whenever the discussion on the construction of a new airport on Gadeokdo emerged, more and more outsiders put buildings on Gadeokdo Island.

Local residents say that one time was’just after the election of former Busan Mayor Oh Geo-don in 2018′, and the other was’after last year’s Democratic Party representative Lee Nak-yeon visited Busan, and the ruling party’s Gadeokdo Island Special Act was promoted.

According to the residents of Gadeokdo, most of the people who built new buildings are outsiders. Residents reported that foreigners, who had owned the land for a long time, were building buildings in order to compensate for the construction of a new airport and profits from market prices.

Of the total area of Gadeokdo Island, the total area of the island is 8.58 million,6163m2 (approximately 2.6 million pyeong), excluding state-owned lands. Of this, 78.86%, or 6.77 million square meters (about 2.55 million pyeong), is owned by outsiders. In fact, the private land owned by a person living on Gadeokdo Island was 1,181,5831m2 (about 540,000 pyeong, 21.14%). According to the real estate industry, in the case of Gadeokdo Island, the publicly announced land price of 100,000 won per pyeong in 2010 is now approaching 2.5 million won.

A resident who met in Daehang-dong of Gadeok Island said, “When Busan Mayor Ogeodon was elected, there were many outsiders putting up new buildings here. It increased again.” He added, “Because you need to have a home here, you can secure the right to occupy a new home for compensation and relocation.”

According to residents, foreigners who aimed for good development on Gadeokdo are generally in favor of the construction of a new airport on Gadeokdo Island, while many indigenous peoples oppose the construction of the new airport on Gadeokdo Island.

A 60-year-old resident, who has lived on Gadeokdo Island for his entire life, said, “Foreign landowners have nothing to lose with the construction of the new airport on Gadeokdo Island. They can get market profits, get compensation, and get the right to move in. So they can quickly raise the building and promote the construction of the new airport. To do it,” he said.

He added, “Aborigines living here in their entire lives lose their means of livelihood,” he said. “Simply relocating the house does not solve the problem. It is impossible for people who have been fishing here to go to another sea or make a living in a completely different industry. “Do it” he said.

Hwang Gwang-yoon (59), who was born in Gadeok-do and currently runs a fishing and raw fish store, said, “Gadeok Island and the sea are a place to live and livelihood for the indigenous people.” And vomited.

◇ Ogeodon family speculation controversy “old rumors…I knew it would”

In response to the speculation of Gadeokdo by the former mayor of Busan, the natives of Gadukdo responded that it was not surprising. A resident of Gadeokdo Island said, “There is a large undeveloped land on the rotary rotary side, on the sea side. I know that there is also Ogeodon.” Gadeokdo resident B also said, “It’s not new because it’s an old rumor.”

According to the results of analysis by Rep. Yun Han-hong, who received data from the Busan City Hall, it was found that Daehan Steel, run by a family member of the former mayor of Busan Oh Geo-don, and the great nephew of Mayor Oh, have tens of thousands of pyeong of land in the area of Gadeok Island in Busan. .

Oh Chi-hoon, the nephew of the former mayor, president of Daehan Steel, owns 1488 square meters (about 450 pyeong) of land in Daehang-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan. Daehan Steel owns 7,289 square meters (about 21,300 square meters) in Songjeong-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, the road from Busan to Gadeok-do, and Daehan Networks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daehan Steel, also has 6596 square meters in the same area. It is reported that it has a factory site of (about 1990 pyeong).

Busan citizens were disappointed and skeptical about the allegations of speculation on Gadeokdo by the former mayor of Busan Mayor Oh Geo-don. However, opinions on the construction of the new airport were divided.

Kim Mo (36), a housewife living in Haeundae-gu, Busan, said, “In the morning of the market, there was a TV commercial for the construction of Gadeokdo Island and the investment craze in Gadeokdo Island. It’s a development issue, and there’s no choice but to be suspicious that there was an impure intention,” he sighed. “But would politicians do this yesterday and today?”

Song Mo, 50, a taxi driver living in Sajik-dong, Dongnae-gu, Busan, said, “Hey, politicians and public officials are obvious. Yesterday, LH employees bought land in a new city in the metropolitan area.” He said, “But the construction of a new airport in Gadukdo must be promoted,” he said. “This is a task on which the national economy as well as Busan depends.”

On the other hand, there were voices saying that they did not know whether Gadeokdo should build an airport, even causing social conflict and controversy. Yoo, 43, an office worker living in Dongnae-gu, Busan, said, “There is too much noise ahead of the mayoral election. It seems that it is not necessary to build an airport like this. Besides, there are suspicions of speculation.”
