Gadeok, the biggest policy topic in Busan, also brought out a new airport. Former Minister Kim said, “The Democratic Party passed the Gaduk New Airport Special Act just by being nominated for this election.” Former Minister Kim’s first pledge is the early completion of the new airport on Gadeok Island in 2029. He also announced that he had built his own ho (號) as’gadeok’.

Born in Busan in 1962, former Minister Kim attended Seongji Elementary School in Busan, Gaeseong Middle School, and Busan-dong High School. After graduating from Korea University, he entered the Blue House in 1993 as the political secretary of President Kim Young-sam. He served as the 16th, 17th, and 20th legislator, and in the Moon Jae-in administration, he served as the first Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, and the secretary-general of the National Assembly after the opening of the 21st National Assembly.
