During the bilateral confrontation between Democratic Party candidate Park Young-sun and People’s Power candidate Oh Se-hoon, Pastor Kwang-Hoon Jeon emerged as a hot topic in the by-election of the mayor of Seoul. The ruling and opposition parties pulled out the careers of the other candidates who attended an event hosted by the former pastor.

When the Democratic Party mentioned the former pastor first, it defined Candidate Se-Hoon Oh as a’extreme politician’, and Lee Jun-seok, the former Supreme Council Member of the Future Integration Party, quickly replied, “Candidate Young-seon Park also attended an event hosted by a former pastor.

與 “Oh Se-hoon, armed with hatred in the arms of the Taegeukgi”

The workshop originated from the remarks of Kim Tae-yeon, acting representative of the Democratic Party’s party. He stipulated that “Candidate Se-hoon Oh is a far-right politician” at the Central Fleet Committee meeting on the morning of the 24th. As the basis, I heard that Candidate Oh attended a meeting led by a former pastor. Representative Kim said, “Candidate Oh participated in the Taegeukgi rally led by Jeon Kwang-hoon in October 2019 and made a mad agitation toward President Moon Jae-in, such as a dictator, a severe dementia patient, and an insane president,” he said.

He also criticized Oh, saying, “We can see the state of being armed with hatred and hostility in the arms of Taegeukgi and falling into a far-right politician.”

Such remarks are interpreted to block the gathering of the middle class due to the unification of the opposition and at the same time gather the supporters. In the online community with a real friendliness, pictures of Candidate Oh and Pastor Pastor taken together at the meeting site are being shared.

Lee Jun-seok “Let’s confront far-right candidates”

Then, the former Supreme Commissioner, who is in charge of the New Media Headquarters of Oh Se-hoon’s camp, came out. On his social media, Candidate Park uploaded a video capture of attending the ‘Prayer of the National Assembly inviting three party representatives to set up the country and the church right’ held in the House of Parliament in 2016. The event was organized by the’National Movement Headquarters for Building Up the Republic of Korea’, led by a former pastor.

In the video, Candidate Park stepped up to the podium, “In the name of God, I strongly tell you once again that homosexuality law, anti-discrimination law, human rights law, and Islamic issues, we can never accept.” It goes against the providence of righteousness,” he said. Pastor Jeon replied, “Let’s make Rep. Park Young-seon the leader of the opposition party.”

Regarding this, the former Supreme Commissioner said, “If you claim to be the extreme right because you attended the event with the pastor, you will also be the extreme right for Candidate Park. You’ll have a confrontation between far-right candidates.”

Meanwhile, the two candidates each expressed their positions on the fact that they had attended the pastor’s meeting.

Candidate Oh held a press conference at the National Assembly on this day and said, “I remember that I went to the Gwanghwamun rally hosted by our Party at the time and spoke two or three times at various rally. I remember saying that he was a dictator.” “I still think firmly that one of the circumstances of this government is the politics of splitting and anti-integration, which will be recorded as the worst president in history,” he asked. “Isn’t that a dictator?”

In a call with Yonhap News, spokesman Kim Han-gyu of Candidate Park Young-seon camp said, “The extreme right rally and the National Assembly prayer meeting are completely different in the nature of the event, the number of participants, and the content of remarks.” It is not something to compare ritually virtuous things in the same context.”
