On the 11th (local time), the German weekly magazine De Chart released the results of evaluating the response of the 36 OECD member countries to Corona 19 by dividing it into six indicators.

The six indicators include new confirmed cases, deaths per 100,000 population, vaccinations, unemployed, and the degree of damage to the national debt growth rate and economic growth rate last year.

As a result of the statistics, Korea scored the highest in four indicators: Corona 19 deaths and unemployed persons per 100,000 population, and the degree of damage to the national debt growth rate and economic growth rate last year.

The number of corona19 deaths per 100,000 population was 3, and the number of new unemployed persons in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the same period last year was 30 per 100,000 population, the lowest among OECD member countries. In contrast, the number of new unemployed people in the United States was 1561, Spain was 1496, and Australia was 1458.

Korea’s national debt growth rate last year was also the lowest among OECD member countries at 3%p. Last year, the country with the highest national debt growth rate was the UK, recording 28%p. This was followed by Italy 23%p, Spain 22%p, and the United States 20%p.

Last year’s economic growth rate was -1.0%, the least hit. Spain’s economic growth rate last year was -11.0%, the biggest hit, followed by Britain (-9.9%), Italy (-8.8%), France (-8.3%), and Germany (-4.9%).

The number of new confirmed cases in Korea was 5 per 100,000 population, ranking second after Australia (0). However, the number of vaccinations was 737 per 100,000 population, remaining in the middle and low ranks.

No country has performed well on all indicators, according to DeChite. In the case of the UK, it ranked first in the vaccination index, but the death toll and the increase in national debt were high. The number of unemployed people in Australia, where the number of new cases is small, has increased significantly, and in Sweden, the number of new cases has been large, but the economic growth rate was less affected.

Germany stayed in the middle of the 12th to 19th place on most indicators, Dechait said.

However, if we simply sum the number of deaths per 100,000 people, the number of newly confirmed cases, and the number of unemployed among the six indicators, Germany ranked 8th in the top ranking when we calculated the Corona 19 Pain Index. Korea has the lowest pain index.
