“The March 1 Independence Movement was initiated by ethnic leaders, but it was ordinary ordinary people who overcame all kinds of repression and spread it into the national national independence movement. Now, people wear masks every morning for their neighbors and practice social distancing. “I think that the spirit of the March 1 Independence Movement together to overcome the national crisis is alive and breathing even in the heart of the people who are doing it,” he said.
He also mentioned the quarantine system based on multilateralism. President Moon said, “We have the capacity to lead solidarity and cooperation based on multilateralism,” and “Last December, we launched the’Northeast Asia Quarantine and Health Cooperation Body’ with the United States, China, Russia and Mongolia. Japan is also considering participation, and we look forward to North Korea as well.”
In particular, he said to North Korea, “starting with the participation in the’Northeast Asia Quarantine and Health Cooperation Organization’, we hope that North Korea will cooperate and exchange with the countries in the region.” .
Regarding the relationship between Korea and Japan, he said, “The two countries have become very important neighbors to each other in all areas, including economy, culture, and people-to-people exchange,” he said.
“Our government is ready to sit face to face with the Japanese government at any time to have a conversation,” he said. “I am confident that we will be able to wisely resolve past problems if we go head-to-head in the posture of the government.”
“The Tokyo Olympics, which will be held this year, could be an opportunity for dialogue between Korea and Japan, between South and North Korea, between North Korea and Japan, and between North Korea and the United States. Korea will cooperate to successfully host the Tokyo Olympics.”

The late Danyang Lee, the wife of General Hong Beom-do, and the late Hong Yang-soon, also received the Founding Medal in recognition of their achievements, including medical activities.
