A public opinion poll came out on the 22nd that the opposition mayor of Seoul is elected with the support of the majority, no matter who comes out. Even in a three-way confrontation, the opposition candidates were more competitive than the ruling party candidates.
This is the result of a survey conducted by Real Meter, a professional polling company, on 1,07 adults over the age of 18 residing in Seoul from the 20th to 21st at the request of JTBC. The margin of error is ±3.1% points at the 95% confidence level.
A single candidate wins overwhelming opposition in a bilateral confrontation
Both the People’s Power Candidate Oh Se-hoon and the Nationalist Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo both took the lead in a virtual bilateral confrontation with the Democratic Party candidate Park Young-sun.
To the question’Who will you vote for if Candidate Oh and Candidate Park face each other’, 53.4% of the respondents answered Candidate Oh. Candidate Park was 31.4%, 22.0 percentage points behind Candidate Oh. It is a difference that is far beyond the margin of error.
When asked,’Who will you vote for if Candidate Ahn and Candidate Park meet?’, Ahn won 55.0% and Park 29.2%. The gap widened further with 25.8 percentage points.
When it comes to a three-way matchup, the oh candidate’s competitiveness is high
When asked,’Who would you like to vote for,’ Oh, 35.5%, Ahn 31.2%, and Park 28.0%.
Despite the three-way match, the gap between Oh and Park widened 7.5 percentage points. The difference between Candidate Oh and Candidate Ahn was within the margin of error. The difference between Candidate Ahn and Candidate Park is also within the margin of error.
In the next presidential candidate’s preference survey, Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol overwhelmed the rivals of the opposition parties with 40.8%. Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myeong was 16.7%, and Democratic Party Standing Election Committee Chair Lee Nak-yeon was 11.0%.
This count was conducted by wireless virtual number (100%) and automatic answering phone survey (ARS), and the response rate was 15.1%. For more information, refer to the Central Election Survey Deliberation Committee.
