Toyota, the famous hybrid family, has launched the first hybrid minivan’New Sienna’ in Korea.

In Korea, Kia’s’Carnival’ is the leading minivan, but in the overseas global minivan market, Toyota’s’Sienna’ has become a global family car from the 1st generation in 1997, the 2nd generation in 2003, and the 3rd generation in 2010 with solid basics and performance. It is called and has established itself as the grand pride of the minivan market.

The 4th generation completely changed model’New Sienna’ maintains the practicality and comfort of a minivan, while realizing a strong and dynamic exterior design like a sedan, and a spacious interior space.

The exterior design of the’New Sienna’ gives the impression of a huge sedan with elongated and sharply shaped lines rather than the blunt feeling peculiar to a minivan. Here, the three-dimensional design of the side leading from the LED headlamps and fog lights, and the A-pillar that supports the windshield and roof of the vehicle are placed further back to reveal a dynamic presence.

The interior interior has been newly adopted with a driver-centered horizontal structure and Connected Forms design, creating an interior that feels open in a spacious and simple space that connects from the center fascia to the console box. In addition, the fact that the storage compartment for bags and luggage is made wide under the connecting space gives a strong impression that it is faithful to the basics of’Family Car’.

The trunk space is deep and is designed to carry a stroller or bicycle sufficiently, and in response to the recent trend, when the chair is folded 180 degrees, it is possible to create a large space where children can jump and play. Proud.

The AWD model is equipped with Toyota’s’E-Four system’. The’E-Four System’ is a method of driving the rear wheels with a separate electric motor, and it enables stable driving by optimally distributing torque to the rear wheels according to the driving situation.

The’New Sienna’ hybrid, which is released in two models, 2WD (front-wheel drive) and AWD (four-wheel drive with E-Four system), is equipped with a hybrid system that combines a 2.5 liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. Together, the combined fuel economy is 14.5km/ℓ for 2WD and 13.7km/ℓ for AWD.

At the same time as the launch,’New Sienna’ built a new segment called Hybrid Minivan. Interest is focused on what kind of report card the’New Siena’ will receive in the market, with excellent fuel economy and dynamic design in the spacious space of a minivan.
