Kwon Soon-woo exceeds $1 million in prize money

Kwon Soon-woo (81th place, Dangjin City Hall) surpassed 1 million dollars (approximately 1.1 billion won) in the men’s professional tennis (ATP) tour career, the third in Korean history.

Kwon Soon-woo won Holger Vitus Notskop Rune (321st, Denmark) 2-1 (6-3, 3rd) in the first round of the singles of the ATP Tour Andalusia Open (total prize money of 4,08800 euros) held in Marbella, Spain on the 5th (Korean time). -6, 7-6) and secured 8770 euros in prize money for the second round.

With this, Kwon Soon-woo surpassed the $1 million mark by adding $99,5304 in career prizes until last week. Kwon Soon-woo is the third Korean player to surpass $1 million in career prizes on the ATP tour, following retired Lee Hyeong-taek ($2,356,686) and $3.69 million Jeong-hyeon (181th place, sponsored by Genesis).

Kwon Soon-woo, born in 1997, scored the best in the quarterfinals in the singles of the ATP Tour and finished in the second round of the US Open last year (the round of 64) in the major tournaments. Kwon Soon-woo entered the clay court season this year, starting with the Andalusia Open, and faced Facundo Bagnis (104th place, Argentina) in the second round of the tournament. Bagnis is a strong player in the clay court, including the semifinals of the ATP Tour Cordoba Open in February this year and runner-up at the Dove Open in Chile in March.

The round of 16 between Kwon Soon-woo and Bagnis is scheduled to start between 8:30 and 9 pm on the 7th.
