Meanwhile, at 4:45 pm the previous day, a fishing boat carrying 32 people in the offshore of Indramayu, Western Java, collided with a 30,000 ton-class bulk carrier. Both ships are Indonesian nationals.
All of the crew on the fishing boat fell into the sea as the boat turned over.
Fifteen of the sailors were rescued and saved, but only two bodies were recovered after 17 disappeared.
No casualties occurred on the bulk carrier. The ship was said to have had an accident while sailing with crude oil on the island of Borneo while the propeller was stuck in a fishing net.
An official from the search team said, “We are continuing to search from the collision point to the surrounding sea area by increasing the number of diving personnel.”
