[투데이에너지 조대인 기자] To prevent CO poisoning accidents, the performance standards of air audit and gas and air ratio control devices have been improved.

The Gas Technology Standards Committee (Chairman Byunghak Choi) held the 122nd meeting and deliberated and decided on amendments to eight detailed standards, including KGS AB131 (the facility, technology, and inspection standards for the manufacture of forced exhaust and forced supply and exhaust gas hot water boilers).

In order to prevent boiler CO poisoning accidents, a transitional measure period (1 year) was established to improve the performance verification of gas and air ratio control devices, such as shutting off or stopping gas supply in the event of an abnormality in the supply/exhaust and blower. ) Was applied (KGS AB131, AB132).

In addition, for all performance changes due to material or structure changes, the scope of the inspection targets is adjusted so that the subject subject to change design stage inspection only receives important changes for safety, and for minor performance changes, the design is changed to a commissioned test determined by the president of Korea Gas Safety Corporation. Standards have been streamlined so that step-by-step inspection can be exempted (AB131, AB132, AB133, AB135, AB336, AB339).

In addition, six detailed standards were completely reorganized under the supervision of the Secretariat of the Gas Technology Standards Committee and with the cooperation of the Chungbuk National Institute of Korean Language and Culture.

This reorganized sentences and terms to make it easier for the public to understand the KGS Code, such as correcting errors in Korean norms and concise long and complex sentences (AB131, AB132, AB133, AB134, AB135, AB136).

The revision of the code, which has been deliberated by the Gas Technology Standards Committee, is expected to be approved by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in April as soon as possible.

As soon as the approval process by the Ministry of Industry is completed, detailed standard revisions will be published in the notice column of the Official Gazette (Korea Electronic Gazette, https://gwanbo.go.kr), and the revised KGS code will be posted on the KGS Code website (www.kgscode.or. kr) and through the three columns of the amendment.
