Polls after serial shooting in Atlanta and Colorado
In favor of strengthening gun control… Democratic 90%, Republican 35%

In a poll conducted after the shootings in Atlanta and Colorado, three out of 10 Republican supporters said they favor gun control.
On the 24th of the local time, USA Today in the United States and the polling agency Ipsos announced the results of an online survey on firearms control.
According to the survey, 65% of respondents said that gun control should be tightened even further. This is 7 percentage points from the USA Today and Ipsos survey conducted in August 2019.
The opposition to the favor of gun control was high among Republican supporters. Only 35% of Republican supporters agreed to tighten gun control. The votes in favor have dropped by 19 percentage points from 54% over the past two years.
Democratic supporters were the same two years ago and now at 90%.

57% of respondents say gun control deregulation is responsible for shootings. It was down 10 percentage points from the 2019 survey.
Only 27% of Republican supporters (24 percentage points ↓ from the 2019 survey) said the deregulation of guns was responsible for the shootings. Democratic supporters were similar at 85% two years ago and now.
In addition, 73% of Americans say the mental health system is responsible for serial shootings, 61% say racism and white supremacy, and 57% say loose gun control is responsible for serial shootings.
