Previously, it was scheduled to be delivered sequentially from mid-April, but to support the timely transportation of domestic cargo, two ships, including Line 1’HMM Nuri’ and Line 2’HMM Gaon’, will be delivered this month. It is put in early.

‘Nuri’, the name of the ship, was selected through a contest for employees in pure Korean, ‘to spread the meaning to the whole world.’ All eight 16,000 TEU-class ships can be easily pronounced and are written in beautiful pure Korean, making the role of the Korean public relations ambassador. The’HMM Nuri’ was put into operation on the Northern European route FE4 (Far East Europe4), which is co-operated with the members of the Alliance. If the’HMM Nuri’ makes one round trip on the FE4 (Far East Europe4) route, it will operate for about 84 days. The flight distance is about 42,000 km, exceeding one round of the earth (about 40,000 km), and plans to make about 4 round trips per year.

The length of the ship is 366M, width 51M, height 30M, and the crew is 22, which is the same as the number of crew members of the 4,000~5000TEU class ships that were previously operated, so it will greatly contribute to cost competitiveness by having cost competitiveness and the best fuel efficiency through economies of scale. It is expected. In addition, it is an eco-friendly ship in preparation for international environmental regulations by installing a scrubber, a device for reducing sulfur oxide emissions.

Starting with the first line’HMM Nuri’, HMM plans to receive a total of 8 ships from Hyundai Heavy Industries by June every 1-2 weeks. The’HMM Gaon’ will be launched at Busan Port on the 27th, and will be put into operation on the Northern Europe route FE4 (Far East Europe4) along with Line 1’HMM Nuri’.
