The negative evaluation was 62.2%, an increase of 4.8 percentage points. The positive evaluation is the lowest for the current government, and the negative evaluation is the highest. The previous lowest rate of President Moon’s approval rating was 35.5% in the first week of January, and the highest before the negative evaluation was 60.9% at the same time.

The decline in approval ratings was large in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (9.3%p↓), Gwangju and Jeolla (5.8%p↓), in their 30s (5.8%p↓), and in their 50s (5.7%p↓). The support rate for the Democratic Party (2.6%p↓) and the Open Democratic Party (2.3%p↓) also fell.

The party approval rate showed that the people’s power rose 3.1 percentage points to 35.5%, and the Democratic Party fell 2.0 percentage points to 28.1%. The Democratic Party approval rating is the lowest since the inauguration of the current government. The gap in approval ratings between the two parties was 7.4 percentage points, out of the margin of error (±2.0%p at the 95% confidence level).

In Seoul, where the re-elections are held in April, the Democratic Party’s approval rating fell 1.4 percentage points to 26.2%, and the people’s support rate rose 2.5 percentage points to 38.9%. It is a difference of 12.7 percentage points. In Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam ahead of the Busan Mayor’s by-election, the Democratic Party fell 2.8 percentage points to 23.5%, and the people’s power rose 2.8 percentage points to 42.0%, and the gap widened to 18.5 percentage points.
