Dialogue in the bathhouse · Moon bathing should not be issued… Total investigation from tomorrow

PCR test of all bathhouse workers from the 22nd

Use within 1 hour of user, prohibit new issuance of’moon bath’

With the recent increase in the number of new coronavirus infections (Corona 19) in the bathing industry, the government is strengthening quarantine targeting bathhouses.

On the 21st, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (middle script) said, “From the 22nd, we will conduct a corona19 gene amplification test (PCR) for all bathhouse workers nationwide.

According to the announcement on the day, first, bathhouse users must fill out an electronic access list (QR check-in) when entering and exiting, and a heat check is also mandatory. This is a measure to prevent people who have fever or cold sore symptoms that caused group infections from using the bathhouse.

In addition to the existing ban on food intake, the use of common items such as ordinary items and containers in the bath is prohibited. Users and workers cannot have private conversations in the changing rooms and bathhouses, and users are strongly advised to use the bath within one hour.

The issuance of a new, tentatively called “moon bath,” which is a monthly flat-rate bathhouse ticket, is also prohibited. This is due to the judgment that frequent access to the bathhouse is the cause of group infection. Facility managers should post on the information board the rules that users must follow, such as use within one hour, prohibition of access in case of fever or chills, and the size of use by area.

The government is planning to take strict measures against violations of quarantine regulations by completing special site inspections such as bathing facilities, which are conducted from the 17th to the 26th, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations. A total of 100 locations are targeted, including 40 locations in the metropolitan area and 60 locations in the non-metropolitan area.

The government’s measures are in response to a large number of mass infections in public baths in Jinju City, Gyeongsangnam-do and Buk-gu Ulsan since the 18th. According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) announcement, a total of 76 people were confirmed cumulatively related to bathhouses in Buk-gu, Ulsan, and group infections related to bathhouses in Jinju, Gyeongnam exceeded 200. It seems that additional propagation was carried out to family members, relatives, and colleagues, mainly centering on bathhouse users.

In particular, the script was skeptical about the use of facilities by wearing waterproof masks and face shields in some bathhouses. “There is controversy regarding the effectiveness of waterproof masks and face shields in the bathroom,” said Son Young-rae, head of the social strategy team at the Central Accident Control Headquarters. We recommend using it within an hour.”
