Candidate Ahn Chul-soo, Mayor of the National Assembly, announced on the 19th, “We will accept the unification method requested by Kim Jong-in, Chairman of the People’s Power Emergency Countermeasures Committee and Candidate Se-hoon Oh.”
Candidate Ahn said, “The only way to keep the promise of winning the opposition is to hold an emergency press conference at the National Assembly,” he said.
Candidate Ahn said, “I am sorry that I could not keep the promise of unification before registration. People who support the opposition right now do not want the individual victory of Ahn Chul-soo and Oh Se-hoon, but only hope that the opposition will win.”
He said, “Even if it is unreasonable and unfavorable to me, I will take it for an immediate unification.”
He said, “If we start polling this weekend, we will be able to decide on a single candidate next Monday (22nd),” he said.
He said, “Now, who is advantageous and disadvantageous, so let’s not talk about it,” he said. “If you win a single candidate in the opposition, won’t you win all the opposition?” He then raised his voice, saying, “I, Oh Se-hoon, the People’s Party, and the power of the people must all hold hands for their dream of winning opposition and establishing democratic rule of law and justice.”
Candidate Ahn emphasized, “Let’s forget all the differences and feelings and start over now for the victory of the opposition championship. The people are watching. History will record it.”
Meanwhile, Candidate Ahn and Candidate Oh met at 9:30 am on the day before the conference to discuss the timing and method of unifying the opposition candidates.
