As the first KBO demonstration match this season was canceled due to rain, SSG Sanders’ Choo Shin-soo (39) was delayed by one day in Korea’s first actual match.
Shin-soo Choo met with reporters at Changwon NC Park on the 20th and said, “After receiving the selection lineup yesterday, I thought,’You are really playing in Korea.’ It seems that there was more excitement than tension,” he said. “I wished not to come because there was a forecast that it would rain from a few days ago.
Choo Shin-soo was in SSG’s starting lineup at the first demonstration game this season against NC Dinos on this day. He was the designated hitter in the second batting order.
However, due to the rain from this morning, the demonstration game scheduled for 1 pm was canceled, and the first actual debut was delayed.
After joining the squad after self-isolation on the 11th, Choo Shin-soo was unable to participate in SSG’s practice matches, focusing on recovery of performance.
Choo Shin-soo, who expressed his regret, expressed his gratitude to the domestic fans, saying, “Korea itself is full of familiarity.
Regarding returning to Korea, he said, “It’s good to be able to speak Korean with the players, so I can accurately convey my sincerity.”
About the first visit to Changwon NC Park, Choo Shin-soo said, “It seems that the size of the tunnel (the players move) is small, but the paint color and lines are very similar to the tunnel that enters the major league stadium. It seems to be similar to (Major League).”
NC and SSG will play a demonstration game at Changwon NC Park at 1 pm on the 21st, the next day.
SSG coach Kim Won-hyung said, “(The NC game on the 21st) and the next Lotte (22/23). If I can go to the defense, I’m expecting what if I go out from then on.”
