Many of the Kakao Taxi apps use it.

With over 28 million subscribers, Kakao T offers a paid service for taxi drivers.

It is a service for a better business environment, but some of the drivers are concerned that the loneliness will not go away.

Reporter Na Gyeong-ryul found out what was going on.

One in two citizens takes a taxi with Kakao T, a taxi calling app.

Taxi drivers are not exaggerating when they say that’business itself is difficult without Kakao T’.

In fact, 230,000 people, or 85% of taxi drivers nationwide, are using the Kakao T app.

Kakao T, which is evaluated to have almost dominated the domestic taxi calling service market, has launched a new paid service for drivers.

The key is the ability to analyze areas with high demand for taxis in real time and to pick up passengers with the same driver and destination first.

Kakao T said that it would not be discriminated against even if the service was not used, such as a decrease in the number of calls.

However, the knights think differently.

“I understand paying money (service fee), but maybe I’ll give more (calls) to people who are paying (paying) with me now…”

The reason for this suspicion is that the FTC has been investigating allegations of abuse of market power since last month due to suspicion that Kakao Mobility has drove calls to its affiliated taxis that receive fees.

Kakao Mobility aims to turn profitable for the first time this year.

“If you don’t sign up there, people like us are very vulgar. I want to sign up, but I don’t want to sign up. Isn’t it unfair…”

In order to achieve the goal, there seems to be a need to wash away the distrust in the field first.
