US President Joe Biden announced on the 18th (local time) that the goal of completing 100 million vaccinations within 100 days of inauguration will be achieved tomorrow (19th) ahead of schedule.

According to AFP, President Biden said in a speech at the White House that day, “I am proud to achieve my goal within 60 days.”

The U.S. provides the remaining 4 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, which has not yet been approved, to neighboring countries such as Mexico and Canada.

According to Reuters, White House spokesman Jen Saki said at a regular briefing that “the goal is to provide 2.5 million servings in Mexico and 1.5 million servings in Canada.”

The US could release 7 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine at this time, but it also said that there are currently no plans to provide the vaccine to other countries.

“We are receiving a lot of requests from many countries and we will continue the conversation,” Saki said. When asked why Mexico and Canada were chosen, they replied, “They are our neighbors and partners.”

However, Reuters reported that this vaccine will be provided by Mexico and Canada in the form of’loan’.

The United States currently does not use the AstraZeneca vaccine, but it plans to start vaccinating as soon as approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is issued.

Earlier this month, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced his intention to borrow a vaccine ahead of a video summit with President Biden earlier this month, but it was once dismissed as a “rejection” stance came out at the White House level.
