The police and rescue teams dispatched to the scene faced the seriousness of the accident and decided that swiftness and safety should be prioritized. They were taken to a hospital, but it was said that none of them were seriously injured.
It took 1 hour and 8 minutes for the rescue team to receive the first call and rescue them all. In addition, it took only 6 minutes for the rescue team to arrive at the scene and first contacted the old couple.
Rescue activities were carried out quickly as in the usual manual even in dangerous situations like a scene in a movie, and many media including local media praised it.
“This rescue operation requires prompt judgment and action,” said Lynn Hightower, spokesman for the Idaho State Police. “Rescuers trained for this, and this saved two precious lives.”
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
