The death toll exceeded 180 as the ruthless repression of the military government in Myanmar continued.

The military is adhering to a tough position by prosecuting Myanmar democrats for treason, who warned of possible civil war, and blocking the possibility of intervening outside forces.

The number of victims is increasing rapidly as the military police’s ruthless repression continues.

Human rights groups and foreign media in Myanmar say at least 180 people have died so far.

The United Nations Office for Human Rights has also said that at least 149 have been officially confirmed and are investigating further reports of death.

But the military is still tough.

The UN envoy of the Congressional Representative Committee, who warned of possible civil war, was immediately prosecuted for treason.

In addition, he made a firm statement of the intention to prevent outside forces from intervening, such as detaining an official from the US investor George Soros Foundation, saying that it provided funding to the protesters.

In the midst of unseen chaos, rice and fuel prices have soared, threatening the lives of Myanmar citizens.
