First introduction of online broadcasting… Shareholders of Samsung SDI·Samsung Electro-Mechanics
Samsung Electronics’ shareholders’ meeting, which has more than 2 million’Donghak Ant’ shareholders, will be held at the Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi Province on the 17th.
As in last year, Samsung Electronics’ shareholders’ meeting will be operated with an electronic voting system, and for the first time, online broadcasting will be conducted in preparation for the prevention of novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
Samsung Electronics held an electronic voting, exercising voting rights online until 5 pm on the 16th, and received prior applications from shareholders who wish to watch the online broadcast.
On this day, the reappointment of internal and external directors, approval of special dividends, and approval of the remuneration limit for directors this year are expected at Samsung Electronics’ shareholders’ meeting.
Three internal directors, including Vice Chairman Kim Ki-nam of Device Solutions (DS) Division, Hyun-Seok Kim, President of Consumer Electronics (CE) Division, and Dong-jin Ko, President of IT and Mobile (IM) Division, will be approved as executive directors at the general shareholders’ meeting.
As outside directors, the agenda for re-appointment of Seoul National University Professor Park Byeong-guk and Chairman Kim Jong-hoon of Kisswemobile will be proposed, and the agenda for re-electing outside director Kim Seon-wook, who served as the head of the Ministry of Legislation as a member of the Audit Committee, is separately proposed.
The agenda for approval of financial statements for the 52nd term, including the end of the 52nd term dividend, which added 10,700 billion won (1,578 won per share), which is a special dividend, will also be handled at the shareholders’ meeting on this day.
Samsung SDI and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, affiliates of Samsung Electronics, are also holding a general shareholders’ meeting on this day.
At the shareholders’ meeting, the two companies stipulate the agenda for the appointment of internal and external directors, the limit of compensation for directors, and the agenda for approval of last year’s financial statements.
