[문화]’Buttercup’ made it… nominated for 6 Oscars

The movie’Buttercup’ was nominated for a whopping 6 categories, including the Academy Award for Best Work, Screenplay, and Music Award.

Yoon Yeo-jung was the first Korean to be nominated for Best Supporting Actor, and Stephen Yeon was the first Asian-American to be nominated for Best Actor.

The movie’Buttercup’, following’Parasite’, once again showed the power of a Korean filmmaker.

He was nominated in six categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.

Independent films, not commercial films, are nominated for six academies, and the film industry is also surprised.

At the last Golden Globe Awards, only 50% of English ambassadors were awarded the Foreign Language Film Awards, causing controversy.

As if the Academy was conscious of it,’Mari’ was nominated for major main prizes such as Best Works and Director’s Awards.

In particular,’Minari”s Steven Yeon and Yoon Yeo-jung set a remarkable record of being nominated for Best Actor and Supporting Actress respectively with Korean ambassadors.

‘Parasite’, the first non-English film award in the Academy’s 92 years of history last year, was not even nominated for an acting award.

Yun Yeo-jung will compete with Olivia Coleman and Amanda Seyfried for the Best Supporting Actress Award, but if he wins, it is the second time in history as an Asian actor.

Stephen was the first Asian-American to be nominated for Best Actor Award in the year, and despite his poor Korean language, he was praised for his deep inner acting.
