On the 16th, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (Company) announced measures to strengthen special quarantine in the metropolitan area. In recent years, 70 to 80% of the 400 new confirmed cases on average come out of the metropolitan area, and as the number of people moving in the spring increases and the fear of corona infection increases in multi-use facilities where people are crowded, they have taken measures.

The city of Seoul has decided to implement intensive management from the 17th to the 31st by designating 30 densely populated facilities among parks, amusement facilities, department stores, shopping malls, and wholesale and retail markets where citizens gather in the spring. Each autonomous district department head is designated as the responsible officer for each facility to provide administrative guidance on quarantine management rules tailored to the characteristics of the facility, such as preventing line-ups at stores and chattering during breaks, and joint city and district inspections on weekends. In the meantime, 441 suspected businesses that have repeatedly reported quarantine violations in multi-use facilities are managed intensively.

In particular, in the case of The Hyundai Seoul Department Store, which has recently been controversial due to a crowded crowd, the number of store users is reduced by 30%, and quarantine measures such as a two-subscription system for vehicles, free parking suspension, and increased indoor ventilation are implemented.

In addition, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is implementing an administrative order to perform corona diagnostic tests for foreign workers at high risk of infection from the 17th to the 31st. Employers and foreign workers who employ more than one foreign worker must visit a nearby temporary screening laboratory to undergo an inspection. If the administrative order is not followed, administrative dispositions such as fines will be imposed.

The monitoring of self-isolation of foreign immigrants is also strengthened, and strict response to quarantine violations is taken. During the quarantine period, the self-isolation status will be checked for two days from 16 to 17 for users of accommodation in the autonomous district, and the self-isolation site inspection will be reinforced once a week.

Gyeonggi Province will conduct diagnostic tests before hiring foreign workers from the 23rd to April 30th as an administrative order. Earlier, Gyeonggi Province has already issued an administrative order (March 8-22) for foreign workers and business owners. Employers can only hire foreign workers whose voice has been confirmed, and can be fined for negligence in case of violating an administrative order.

High-risk workplaces and multi-use facilities that are susceptible to group infection are subject to unannounced inspections until the 28th. For the bathhouse business, electronic access registers are to be made mandatory.

To prepare for the 4th epidemic, if the distance is maintained at 2 or more stages, the subject of preemptive periodic inspections will be expanded to workers in vulnerable facilities. In addition, due to the prolonged corona, it is planning to support labor costs when hiring samples of municipal health centers and administrative support personnel.

Yoon Tae-ho, head of the quarantine and prevention headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, said at a regular briefing on the day, “In order to suppress the re-proliferation of the third epidemic, it is necessary to suppress the number of patients in the metropolitan area to the level of 200.” I ask you to pay more attention to quarantine management in all daily life, such as work and leisure.”
