Autopsy proceeds for the two dead… Report re-evaluation of results

Out of 16 people who died after getting a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine in Korea, it was found that the cause of death was not related to the vaccine. This is the result of a total of 14 cases reported as deaths after vaccination, including 8 cases at the first meeting and 6 cases at the second meeting.
The Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) announced these results through a regular briefing on the 15th. The promotion team said, “As a result of confirming the occurrence of adverse reactions in the same institution and the same date as the six death cases, it was judged that the possibility of abnormal vaccine products or errors in the vaccination process was low as there were no serious adverse reaction cases.”
Four of the six death cases investigated this time were judged based on the data collected so far. The other two decided to evaluate again after checking the autopsy results. Of these, five are patients who have been admitted to nursing hospitals and one to hospital-level medical institutions. By age, 2 people in their 60s and 4 people in their 50s, it was found that all of them were suffering from chronic diseases (basic diseases).
The time between vaccination and death varied from a minimum of 3 days to a maximum of 8 days and even 6 hours. As a result of the investigation, they were more likely to have died from exacerbation of underlying diseases such as cardiovascular disease, malignant neoplasms, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and presumed causes of death such as heart failure, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and pneumonia were identified.
The announcement on this day is based on the results of the’Vaccination Damage Investigation Group’ meeting held on the 12th. The vaccination damage investigation group consists of clinicians such as pediatrics and adolescents and internal medicine, and forensic medicine experts. On the 8th, the vaccination damage investigation team previously analyzed the causal relationship between the previously reported 8 deaths and vaccinations, and announced the lack of direct causality.
The Vaccination Damage Investigation Team reported 14 out of 16 cases reported to have died after being vaccinated as of 0 o’clock on the same day. The promotion team plans to announce the results after evaluating through the vaccination damage investigation team in the future for the two additional reported deaths and serious cases.
