The situation in Myanmar is on the verge of worsening.

Yesterday, at least 59 people were killed in the worst bloodshed. As martial law is proclaimed, the anger of the Myanmar people is growing even more.

First, let’s sort out the protest situation. The most fatalities since the coup yesterday, right?

Yes. At least 59 people were killed in fire by the military police yesterday, Sunday.

Local media reported that the number was confirmed only in the Yangon area, and 129 people were injured.

This is the most common occurrence since the February 1 coup.

The cumulative death toll also reached 150.

Yesterday, protesters built barricades with sandbags and barbed wire all over the streets, but collapsed by the military police’s suppression of tear gas and live ammunition.

The military declared martial law in two places in Yangon after bloody crackdown yesterday, but today it expanded four more.

There are reports that martial law has been imposed in some areas of Mandalay, the second city, so it seems that there are more than six areas where martial law has been declared.

Although measures were taken in some areas, the level of violence suppression is expected to rise further as the military and police can exercise both administrative and judicial powers without the intervention of the highest decision-making body established after the coup due to the declaration of martial law.

Meanwhile, in Myanmar, it is known that the internet for mobile phones has been cut off from this morning.

Network monitoring company Netblocks said the mobile network has been blocked nationwide in Myanmar.

The confusion seems to be intensifying. The first arson incident occurred after the coup, which is in a certain area.

This is the Hlayingthaya area, where martial law was declared first yesterday.

Foreign media reported that five or six clothing production factories owned by Chinese people here suffered arson and looting, and many Chinese were injured.

Local media said the Chinese embassy issued a statement and called for the Myanmar police to ensure the safety of Chinese businesses and Chinese people.

It is pointed out that Chinese factories were targeted because China took a friendly position with the Myanmar military at the UN Security Council.

It is not yet known who was doing it.

However, it is known that the local Korean Association has started raising and distributing the Taegeukgi, fearing that it will be mistaken for a Chinese factory and spatter.

Our embassy also asked us to take care of safety, refrain from accessing the protest sites, and possess an identification card to prove that we are Korean when going out unavoidable.
