As a countermeasure for the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea, the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people has been partially eased from the 15th.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters, the current “social distancing” (second stage in the metropolitan area, 1.5 stage in the non-metropolitan area) and banning meetings of five or more people have been extended for two weeks until 12 p.m. on the 28th.

In addition, measures to restrict the operation of multi-use facilities in the metropolitan area such as restaurants and cafes until 10:00 p.m. continue.

However, with regard to the ban on meetings with more than 5 people, some of the meetings with exceptions have been expanded.

First of all, up to 8 people can gather at the meeting before marriage, including the prospective bridegroom, bride, and parents of both families.

Meetings with children under the age of 6 are also possible for up to 8 people. However, only 4 people are allowed during the meeting, excluding infants and toddlers under 6 years old. A combination of 5 children under 6 years of age and 3 adults is possible, but a combination of 3 children under 6 years of age and 5 adults is not allowed.

For immediate family gatherings, which have already applied exceptions, the number of people is limited to a maximum of 8 people. In the case of immediate family members, there has been no limit on the number of personnel, but this adjustment was made to reflect the recent increase in family-family infections.

The operation of a first-birthday specialty store, which was virtually restricted due to a ban on meetings of five or more people, was also allowed.

A first-birthday party specialty store that has a manager who can oversee quarantine management can hold the event on the premise of observing core quarantine rules such as wearing a mask and refraining from moving between tables.

As with weddings and funerals, the number of people attending the first birthday party should be kept at each stage of distancing. In the metropolitan area, where the second phase is applied, up to 99 people can attend the first birthday party.

The restrictions on business hours of entertainment facilities in the non-metropolitan area have also been eased.

The business hours limit for five entertainment facilities such as entertainment pub, Danran pub, Gamseong pub, Collate, and Hunting Pocha, and Hold’em Pub (a pub where you enjoy playing card games while drinking alcohol) have been lifted until 10 p.m.

Accordingly, these facilities can be operated without a time limit if quarantine rules such as a maximum of 4 people per room and mandatory use of electronic access lists are followed.

The government explained that the restrictions on operating hours for entertainment facilities were lifted in consideration of equity, such as that other industries in the non-metropolitan area are not subject to time restrictions.

The restrictions on business hours for multi-use facilities in non-metropolitan areas such as restaurants and cafes were lifted earlier.

National and public casinos in the metropolitan area are also allowed to operate on a limited basis. Two national and public casinos that are operated exclusively for foreigners are allowed to operate within 20% of the capacity to achieve fairness with private facilities that do not have business restrictions.

On the other hand, restrictions on operating hours were added for the bathhouse business in the metropolitan area.

It cannot be operated after 10 p.m. from that day, and conversations with three shrines are prohibited in the bath where it is difficult to wear a mask.

However, it became possible to use sweat rooms such as sauna and steam facilities. Even in the sweat room, there should be a distance of at least 1m between users.
