[사회]Distance classes, the hardest thing is’self-care’

[앵커]

When I asked middle and high school students who are taking online classes at home with Corona 19, they cited self-management through regular living as the most difficult thing.

If your life is irregular, it will adversely affect your health as well as your learning.

With Corona 19, the formula that’a student is a person who attends school’ has been broken.

Self-directed learning is more important than ever, but it’s not an easy task.

As a result of the actual survey, middle school students cited’self-management’ as the most difficult point in the remote class in the second semester last year.

High school students also found it the most difficult to manage themselves and learn on their own.

The timetable of the academic calendar and the self-directed learning skills required by online classes for students under the supervision of school teachers were unfamiliar and high walls.

When self-management breaks down, it adversely affects not only learning, but also health.

More than 6 out of 10 high school students slept late and woke up late after Corona 19, and 40% of middle and high school students answered that even their eating habits became irregular.

According to a study that showed that in the case of children aged 4 to 14 years old, the percentage of overweight increased by more than 10 percentage points between March and August of last year, it can be said that the health of middle and high school students also turned on a red light.

[안문배 / 가톨릭의대 소아청소년과 교수 : 요즘처럼 배달 앱이 이렇게나 활성화돼서 아이들이 고칼로리 음식을 많이 먹을 수 있는 시기까지 겹쳐버렸으니까….]

As Corona 19 has advanced the era of non-face-to-face distance classes, measures for youth self-directed learning and health management are also urgently needed.
