General national vaccination will begin next month following nursing hospitals, facility residents, and medical staff.

This target is for the general public over the age of 65, and it will be conducted sequentially, starting with the older person.

The key is securing vaccine supplies.

About 8.5 million people over 65 years of age were eligible for vaccination, as estimated by the government earlier.

In order to get all vaccinations within the second quarter as planned, it is necessary to secure enough vaccines such as Modena and Janssen, which have not yet been confirmed, in addition to the confirmed introduction of 4.55 million AstraZeneca vaccines and 3 million Pfizer vaccines.

In the meantime, the World Health Organization’s WHO said in some cases of death due to blood clots after vaccinating AstraZeneca in some European countries, it is not related to the vaccine, and should continue to be vaccinated.

Our health authorities also explained that the serial number of the vaccine was not introduced in Korea, and that there was no report of side effects that a blood clot occurred in Korea.
