The birth mother of a 3-year-old girl found dead in a villa in Gumi, Gyeongbuk on the 10th of last month was not a woman in her 20s who was arrested, but her maternal grandmother. The woman who was originally known as her mother and the child who died were sisters.

According to the Gumi Police Station on the 11th, it was confirmed through genetic (DNA) testing that the birth mother of the deceased child was not Kim (22), but Seok (48), Kim’s mother. In a DNA test, the police confirmed that Kim was not the mother of the deceased child, and expanded the DNA test range to Seok, and revealed this fact.

Accordingly, the police arrested and arrested Seok on charges of looting and inducing a minor under the criminal law. Seok was the first reporter to contact the police after finding a child who had died earlier.

It is known that such a complex blood relationship emerged as these mothers and daughters were pregnant and gave birth at the same time. Police believe that Seok gave birth to a girl and then replaced it with the child Kim gave birth to hide it. By swapping children, he turned his daughter into a granddaughter. The whereabouts of Kim’s daughter are still unknown, and the police are looking for this child’s whereabouts.

The police are concentrating on the whereabouts of Seok’s granddaughter, who the father of the child died, and whether Kim also knew this, and why he changed the child because Seok was not cooperative with the police investigation. Until now, DNA tests have only confirmed that the father of the deceased child is not Suk’s husband.

From this point of view, the police believe that Seok has turned his real daughter into his only granddaughter in order to hide his daughter, who was born with a man other than her husband. The police secured a recruit of Seok’s nayeonnam and entered the DNA test.

However, it is believed that the mother did not know that her mother changed her daughter because Kim stated that “I hated seeing it because it was my ex-husband’s child” about the reason that Kim left her child alone in a police investigation.

The police confirmed to Kim that the deceased child was not Kim’s daughter, but the mother’s daughter, but he was known to have not believed this fact.

Seok met with reporters at the interrogation of the suspect before arrest at Gimcheon Branch of the Daegu District Court on that day and denied giving birth, saying, “I have never had a daughter, and it is true that my daughter gave birth.” “Do you think the DNA test is wrong?” he replied “yes” to the reporter’s question.

Previously, the police could not find out the cause of the death of the girl who died through an autopsy. At the end of last month, the police concluded that “the cause of the girl’s death is unknown and there is no evidence of broken bones.” The child who died was left alone for six months on the upper floor of the second-floor villa where Mr. Suk lives. Seok received a call from the landlord asking her to leave the house due to the expiration of her daughter’s house contract, and found a child who died while looking for her daughter’s house and reported it to the police. In a police investigation, Seok revealed his identity as’the maternal grandmother of the child who died’. However, he said he had ended his relationship with his daughter.

On the 19th of last month, the police sent Kim to the prosecution after applying charges such as murder and violation of the Child Welfare Act, Child Allowance Act, and Infant Care Act. It was revealed that even after the death of the child, Kim was unfairly receiving 1.2 million won, including child allowance and family parenting allowance, which Gumi City paid to the child.

A police official said, “We are gathering investigative power to find the whereabouts of Mr. Seok’s only granddaughter.”
