Hyundai Motor Company has confirmed the name of the new premium class multipurpose vehicle (MPV) as’Starria’. On the 11th, Hyundai Motor Company released a teaser image (photo) of the Starria appearance. The official release is scheduled to take place in the first half of this year. Starria is a vehicle that Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Eui-seon Eui-seon gave as a retirement gift to Lee Dong-guk, a football player from Hyundai Jeonbuk, in November last year. At the time, it was known as the ‘2021 new luxury minivan’, but this time it was revealed that the vehicle was starria.
Hyundai Motor Company developed Staria based on the MPV concept that contains an innovative and futuristic image. Staria is a compound word of’star’ meaning star and’RIA’ meaning wave, and is inspired by the exterior of a spacecraft that swims between the stars.
The teaser image unveiled this time is a luxury model,’Starria Lounge’, which is a 7-seater, featuring a voluminous exterior and an interior design that maximizes a relaxed sense of openness. The interior space was greatly expanded through high height, long width, and low belt line. Like MPV, it is easy to load things. The front part consists of a large, wide radiator grill and a thin, long daytime running light that runs across the body. The curve that runs from the front to the rear of the vehicle is reminiscent of a spacecraft. “Starria is a multipurpose vehicle that opens up a new era of mobility,” said Lee Sang-yeop, executive director in charge of Hyundai Design. “We will provide new experiences and values to customers through differentiated designs.”
