The city announced on the 10th that the business began in earnest with the start of the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the Hanyang University Innovation Park held at the campus innovation park business site within the Hanyang University ERICA campus.

All Hanyang University Innovation Parks are expected to invest 1.5 trillion won worth of investment, through which the production inducement effect of 5.9 trillion won and the added value induction effect of 1.8 trillion won, youth-oriented information and communication technology, cutting-edge manufacturing and research industry, culture It is expected to have enormous economic ripple effects such as attracting 1,000 related companies such as technology and inducing employment of 10,000 people.

In particular, Kakao’s No. 1 data center and industry-academic cooperation facility, a large domestic platform company, will be located, creating an industry-academic-research innovation hub and attracting various innovative companies in connection with the Jiangsu R&D Special Zone.

On October 27, last year, Hanyang University Innovation Park, designated as an urban high-tech industrial complex, will be promoted in the first phase of 78,579 square meters first, and the second phase of 105,000,551 square meters will begin in earnest after 2023.

The first phase of the Hanyang University Innovation Park project contains the creation of an urban high-tech industrial complex equipped with infrastructure, such as industrial facilities, support facilities, and parks, on a 75,000m2 site in a joint private-public development method.

He said that the second phase project will be built into a biotechnology industrial complex centered on a general hospital.

The campus innovation park project is a joint project of three ministries of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Small and Medium Business. The main content is to nurture the university as a base for innovative growth.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Mayor Yoon Hwa-seop, Ansan City Chairman Park Eun-gyeong, Hanyang University President Kim Woo-seung, LH Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters Kim Seong-ho, and Gyeonggi Province 2nd Vice Governor Lee Han-gyu.

Ansan Mayor Yoon Hwa-seop said, “Hanyang University Innovation Park is expected to play a central role in the 4th Industrial Revolution as a R&D and technology hub in connection with Jiangsu Special R&D Zone. I will do my best to make it progress.”
