According to the German Football Association (DFB), on the official website on the 9th (local time), “Director Loeb has decided to resign after taking Euro 2020 this summer.”
After coaching the German national team in August 2004 and succeeding Jürgen Klissmann in 2006, coach Loeb led the German national team for nearly 15 years.
While leading the German national team, coach Loeb recorded 120 wins, 38 draws and 31 losses in 189 matches, runner-up in Euro 2008, 3rd place in 2010 South Africa World Cup, 2014 Brazil World Cup, and 2017 International Football Federation (FIFA) Confederations Cup. .
However, from the 2018 Russia World Cup, the German national team began to collapse. After being assigned to Group F in the group stage, he lost 0-2 to Korea in the final match and was eliminated to the bottom. Since then, he has been caught up in hard theory several times due to poor sexual performance.
In December of last year, German media’TZ’ reported that DFB chairman Fritz Keller persuaded him to resign three times, but the board decided to support him again and that the contract was extended until 2022.
It seems that Loeb, whose contract has been extended, has not played the 2022 Qatar World Cup, but has led the German national team until Euro 2020 and has requested termination of the contract.
On the other hand, it is said that Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp is being discussed as a replacement for Loeb, but Klopp emphasized that the contract with Liverpool is three years left and dismissed the rumor that there are many other good managers.
