A famous pork soup restaurant in Busan where the scene of side dish reuse was exposed during the Afro TV broadcast was subject to administrative disposition by the district office.

On the 7th, BJ Pie held an event to donate twice the sales of those who came to see himself carrying food at a soup restaurant run by his aunt. The event was broadcast live through Africa TV.

In the process, a scene where an employee reuses the Kkakdu left over from a customer was captured by the camera. The remaining Kkakdugi was put in the side dish, and at the same time, another employee scooped the Kkakdugi from the side dish and put it in a new bowl.

Viewers immediately took issue with the reuse of side dishes. Moreover, the controversy has spread even more as hygiene is an important corona situation.

BJ Pie apologized through her YouTube and African TV channels. He said, “I sincerely apologize as an organizer for the problem of food reuse.” He added, “The restaurant is expected to correct hygienic management and receive punishment immediately.”

The competent Busan Dong-gu Office is planning to visit the restaurant in person and inspect it, and then dispose of it as an administrative measure for violating the Food Sanitation Act.

According to the current Food Sanitation Act enforcement regulations, restaurants should not reuse, cook or store food left over by customers.

If caught while reusing the leftover side dishes, they could face imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to 30 million won. In addition, administrative measures such as business suspension 15 days, business license cancellation, business office closure, etc. will be imposed depending on the number of detections.
