Mackenzie Scott, 51, the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s CEO, has remarried with Dan Juet, a science teacher in Seattle, USA.
According to a number of media such as the Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press on the 7th (local time), Juet posted on the website of the charity’Giving Pledge’ on the 6th, “Thank you for being able to marry such a generous person. Scott. I am ready to help write this own wealth for others,” he wrote.
The AP reports that Juet has been a teacher for decades and recently taught chemistry at a private school where Scott’s children attended.
Giving Pledge is a charity established in 2010 led by Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates to promote the return of wealth to society. In Korea, Chairman Kim Bong-jin, who is an elegant brother, participated in this group and attracted attention.
Scott divorced her husband Bezos in 2019. It was around the time that the affair between former TV anchor Lauren Sanchez and her husband was reported. After being married for 25 years, Scott received 4% of Amazon’s share in the divorce settlement. His fortune is estimated to be about 53.5 billion dollars (about 604 trillion won). He is the 22nd richest man in the world. After the divorce, he has been working as an asset owner and writer, and has announced that he will donate more than half of his fortune by participating in Giving Pledge. Last year alone, it donated $5.7 billion (about 6.48 trillion won).
Scott is reportedly living in Seattle with four children and her husband, Dan. According to Bloomberg, Bezos said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal, which first reported Scott’s remarriage, that “Dan is a great person and I am happy because of the two of them.”
