Mayor Park Young-sun, Mayor of the Democratic Party of Seoul, said on the 7th that he would visit Seoul Forest in Seongdong-gu, Seoul and make the area of Seoul Forest the best landmark in Seoul, such as Central Park in New York.
Candidate Park held the event’Again Walking in Seoul-21 Minute Compact City Experience’ while walking around the Seoul Forest this afternoon. This event was held every Sunday after the Mayor of Seoul was declared run for election, and it is the fifth time after Dobong, Nowon, Magok, and Mapo.
Candidate Park said, “By fostering the Seoul Forest area as a hub for balanced regional development that connects the river and north and south, and as the central axis of the waterfront cultural belt that runs along the Han River, you can enjoy culture and leisure together like New York’s Central Park and Lincoln Center. We will create the best landmark in Seoul.”
He also said, “Seoul Forest is a very good case for creating new jobs through green as well as its role as a park,” he said. “When the Mayor of Seoul becomes the mayor of Seoul, we will create more parks like Seoul Forest and expand the green space of Seoul to 40%.” I promised.
Regarding the current issues in Seongdong-gu, he said, “We will promote the relocation of the Sampyo ready-mixed concrete plant without any problems, and create the best waterside cultural park in harmony with Seoul Forest and Han River. The Sampyo ready-mixed concrete plant is scheduled to be relocated until June 2022.
In addition, he said, “We will foster the area of the semi-industrial area in Seongsu-dong as Seoul’s best ICT (Information and Communication Technology) new industry special zone.” In addition, he pledged, “We will not spare the support of Seoul Metropolitan Government so that Seongdong-gu can stand as a social enterprise hub.”
